The Fourth Annual Whitewater Raft and Music Festival will be Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno. Rafting registration and check-in will be located at the Arlington Ave. entrance to the park. 2. What time should we be there to make sure we don’t miss any of the water fun? ? Rafting registration begins at 9 a.m. at Wingfield Park. The shuttle bus to the start line for the whitewater rafting will begin leaving at 10:00 a.m. with multiple shuttle runs. The race begins at noon from Crissy Caughlin Park. 3. don’t have a boat and I don’t want to swim. Where can I get a raft? Inflatable kayak and raft rentals are available from Tahoe Whitewater Tours. Contact Mike in advance at 775-787-5000 to reserve a raft. Make sure to mention Angel Kiss to receive an event discount! Due to anticipated water levels, no inflatable tubes will be allowed. 4.Can we use anything we want to be in the race? Contestants can participate by using enclosed floating devices. Due to water levels only kayaks and inflatable inner tubes may be used. Teams with over two people may use separate inner tubes, must cross the finish line holding hands. There are eight different categories available for the serious racer to the creative group of friends who want to dress up as pirates. 5. We just want to get our groove on. What is the music schedule? The day begins at 10:30 a.m. and features six local bands which will play until 5:30 p.m. 6. Can we get food at the park? You can enjoy morning treats including coffee provide by Blind Dog Coffee Roasters, BBQ provided by Vista Grille, micro brews provided by Great Basin Brewery and ice cream treats! 7. What’s the Cost? Whitewater Race entry fee for the first person in any boat/raft is $30. Each additional person is $15. Example: 4 people in a raft =$75. This fee includes your entry fee, an event T-shirt, Angel Kiss Foundation wrist band and trophies for the top three finishers in every category. 8. Who does this event benefit? The event benefits Angel Kiss Foundation who is dedicated to helping all local families of children with cancer, regardless of income, by providing immediate assistance and support for any expense or need related to treatment. All of the proceeds from this premier fundraising event will stay here in northern Nevada supporting our families and assisting them financially while they focus on helping their kids get well. 9.
